How Persol Sunglasses Got Its Start

With a rich history that goes back to 1917, Persol sunglasses have stood the test of time. Giuseppe Ratti was the man who started the company. The company didn’t start out with the models that we know today, such as the Persol 714. Instead Ratti’s first sunglasses were known as Protector sunglasses, which were built using round smoked lenses with rubber edges. An elastic band was what held these glasses to the persons head. Made for pilots and sports car drivers, the Protector sunglasses provided great protection, comfort, and visible clarity.

From there, Persol sunglasses were born. A few key features of these sunglasses that made them so popular were their neat design, crystal lenses, their tradmark symbol the arrow, and the patented Maflecto system. These features raised the bar in terms of sunglasses manufacturing and other companies were eager to apply some of these features to their own sunglasses.

Whats amazing about these sunglasses is their quality. They are assembled using the highest quality materials possible and require manual craftsmanship instead of automated. This in turn means that every pair gets looked over and examined before they are sold to stores. A special process called telatura is something that all Persol sunglasses must undergo. This process eliminates the edges on the glasses making a very comfortable fit. These sunglasses also come equipped with acetate frame which was the first of its kind.

Persol’s crystal lenses are what the company is most proud of. The lenses are cre using high quality optical material which provides unmatched clarity and protection. The lenses also are available in a polarized version to block reflecting light.

Persol’s also come with the companies symbol, the Supreme Arrow engraved on them, as well as the Maflecto system. The Maflecto system is used to get rid of head pressure from the arms of the glasses.

These sunglasses are the definition of style and class. They are everything that you would want in a pair of sunglasses. With so many neat features, it’s easy to see why they are so treasured by everyone who owns a pair.
